THE BALTIC AND INTERNATIONAL MARITIME COUNCIL (BIMCO) - Bimco Review

Needed: An annual in-depth summary of all aspects of the shipping industry.

Produced on a contract publishing basis: BPC ensures that all costs are covered by the sale of advertising.

Result: An indispensable tool for the shipping world.

The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO),
a respected shipping organisation based in Copenhagen, was formed in 1905. Today it represents about 69% of the world's merchant fleet.

Conceived as annual summary for BIMCO members, the BIMCO Review started life in 1993. BPC won the contract for the Review in 1999, and has successfully published the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 editions.

The BIMCO Review is funded by advertising, but the 65+ articles are non-advertorial discussions of serious and current issues. Working with BIMCO, it is BPC's responsibility to choose the topics and commission the copy from international experts.

The BIMCO Review has been so well received that it is now being made available for sale to non-members.

'A formidable encapsulation of contemporary shipping issues…

While virtually every area in the maritime industry is explored, leading experts discuss the market developments, regulation, manning and management, along with articles on financial and commercial topics.

Stuffed with information, the book is notably attractive, drawing heavily on the photographs and historic collection of Ambrose Greenway.'

Michael Grey - writing for Lloyd's List said of BIMCO Review 2000.
