The Baltic Exchange/Stephanie Zarach

BPC's London office is located in the Baltic Exchange, St Mary Axe.  Based here is Stephanie Zarach who acts as a consultant for BPC by managing and writing projects - often complicated and always thoroughly researched.

Stephanie Zarach has an MA degree in History from Queen Mary College, London University.  Her first job was in the press library at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, where she worked on the Far East desk and wrote articles on China for the Council for Education in World Citizenship.  She went onto work as researcher and report writer for official books on the UK's civil power programmes.

Stephanie now has over twenty years experience in managing and writing publications, including some thirty business histories.  She has specialised in the maritime industry during the past 10 years and write topical and feature articles for shipping publications, interviewing major personalities within the industry both for current articles and for company archives.  She also advises on corporate publications.

Publications which Stephanie has managed or written on behalf of BPC include BIMCO Review, for which she was managing editor from the year 2000 to 2005; Mutuality - The Story of the UK P&I Club; Typhoon Wallem; BIMCO Centenary 2005 and, most recently, a history for HSBC Insurance Brokers Elephants in paper bags and steam in crates...

Stephanie has also edited British Business History: A Bibliography, published by Macmillan, Changing Places: The remarkable story of the Hong Kong Shipowners for the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and numerous articles for BIMCO Bulletin.
